- Choose a cell that is not a โgivenโ (locked) number. Givens are greyed; you cannot overwrite them.
- Enter 1โ9 using the on-screen number pad, or with keyboard keys 1โ9 when a free cell is selected. 0, Backspace, or Delete clears your entry in that cell.
- Watch conflicts: if a digit already appears in the same row, column, or 3ร3 box, that cell is marked so you can fix it. The puzzle must respect all three constraints at once.
- New game reshuffles a stored puzzle. Toggle Sound for feedback. On desktop, Cmd/Ctrl+N also starts a new game.
- Win when every cell is filled and the grid is valid. There is no score, stake, or payout โ this is a logic pastime, not gambling.
Where Sudoku comes from (and where it is not from)
The puzzle that newspapers turned into a daily habit is only a few decades old in its current 9ร9 form: early versions appeared in the United States, then Japan refined the rule set and the name, and the rest of the world followed. That gentle spread was about newsprint and coffee, not odds or wagers. Each board is a closed problem: the numbers either fit the rules or they do not.
We host it here for the same reason we host other classic games: a break that does not involve a bankroll. If you are on this site to read about PayPal casinos, treat this page as the opposite of that โ a few quiet minutes, one digit at a time.
Rules in one breath
Every row, column, and 3ร3 block must contain each digit 1 through 9 exactly once. A well-made puzzle has a single solution; guessing should not be required if you read the constraints carefully.
Getting better without speed-running
Look for sole candidates (only one digit can go in a cell) and groups of cells that can only take two or three numbers โ those patterns unlock the rest. Short sessions are fine; Sudoku rewards calm focus more than speed.
Why we keep it on a casino-adjacent site
There is no RTP, no bonus round, and no deposit. The grid is a small, honest challenge you can close whenever you like โ a useful contrast to anything that involves a wallet. When you are done reading reviews, come back here to clear your head one cell at a time.
